All I can say is that each Album means something personal to me and represents different parts of myself, I love Jesse and often I listen to his music as if it were written specifically to me as a love letter to a younger brother about the pain and suffering, trial and triumph of my life. Whether it’s the eeriness of Science Fiction and it’s recordings of psychoanalysis sessions and psychotherapy sessions, or the heaviness especially of Daisy Album, or the deep meaning in Devil and God Raging inside me, or the phase of self interest and seeming self obsession with a deep touch of humility and love in the words Deja Entendu, or the rawness of a Uni student spilling his guts through your favourite weapon. With each song on each album being my favourite song at some period in time of listening to Brand New. Having listened to Brand New since I was 13 years old, beginning with your favourite weapon I would say that the evolution of Jesse Lacey (lead vocalist) needs to be acknowledged from album to album as an Artist.
